Q & A with Elder Corbett

Q: What has been your biggest challenge this week?
A: Getting with our investigators. They have been doing who knows what and they have not been home. and its tough because they don't live close at all. its like an hour walk all uphill. Nor do they have cell phones so its just difficult to get with them. The worst feeling is when it is just pouring rain and we are soaking wet and we climbed the huge mountain and they aren't even home haha.
Q: What has been your biggest concern?
A:My deepest fear is not that I am inadequate. My deepest fear is that I am powerful beyond measure. It is my light, not my darkness that most frightens me. ;)
Q:What has been your biggest success?
A:The biggest success we had was found some great new investigators here in Colo in the actual city part. Now we have more to do during the night times.
Q: Who has been your favorite person this week? Why?
A: My favorite person this week would be the old ward secretary here. His name is rolando. He is now the high counselor asigned to ICal. But he is just a funny guy and its fun to chill with him for a bit every here and there.

Q: What has been your most significant tender mercy?
A: Most significent tender mercy this week was when i was probably the wettest i have ever been in my life. Literally soaking wet.... My north face jacket that i bought isn't exactly impermeable. Water definitly enters... haha but i was soaking wet. It was really cold and just pooring all day. My pants got really muddy. And all our investigators were gone and so we were just walking for pure pleasure in the villages.... But through all that i never once felt sorry for myself or anything like that. I remember thinking while i was just getting pelted by heavy heavy rain and wind, "How sick is this". with a smile on the face
Q: What are you looking forward to this coming week?
A: General conference fo sho
Q: Do you have a goal set for this coming week? Tell me about it.
A: We want to start contacting people in the street more. At least 10 a day. we see a lot more miracles when we do and meet some cool people.
Q: Which scripture has had the biggest impact on you this week?
A: Be Still, and Know that i am god

This week was pretty good. We had a Stake Mission Meeting and Zone conferene. They were both good. Learned a lot from them both. We learned a lot about how to help members take a more active role in mission work. Many members are afraid or don't feel worthy to work in the Work so we were trained how to help them and involve them. We also listened to the head of family history for all of central americal about getting our converts to the temple. Statisitcs show that if converts don't go to the temple, 8/10 will go inactive quickly. But if they go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, 8/10 will stay active.

It was a good week. This week we have interviews with president. It will be a busy week just because of conference and trying to go with all the investigators but the busy weeks are the better weeks.

Love you guys!
Elder Corbett
